Symptoms
• Oven will not heat or reaches incorrect temperatures
• Display shows E02 error code
• Oven may shut off during cooking cycles
• Preheating fails or takes unusually long
• Self-cleaning cycle cannot be initiated
• Oven beeps and locks out all functions
• Temperature display may show erratic or frozen readings
Possible Causes
• Temperature sensor probe is damaged, cracked, or broken inside the oven cavity
• Loose or disconnected wiring between the sensor and control board
• Temperature sensor has reached end of service life and no longer responds accurately
• Corrosion on sensor connector pins due to moisture or spill damage
• Control board failure preventing sensor signal recognition
• Faulty sensor connection after recent self-cleaning cycle (common on 300, 500, 800 Series)
• Sensor probe tip touching oven wall or rack, causing false readings
• 240V supply voltage fluctuation affecting sensor calibration on dedicated circuit
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off power to the oven at the home circuit breaker and wait 60 seconds, then switch back on to perform a hard reset
• Check that the oven is plugged into a dedicated 240V circuit breaker (not shared with other appliances) as required by USA electrical code
• Allow the oven to cool completely to room temperature before attempting any checks
• Open the oven door and visually inspect the temperature sensor probe (thin metal rod typically located on the left or right side wall inside the oven) for visible cracks, breaks, or discoloration
• Verify the oven door closes fully and the door latch engages properly, especially if error appeared after a self-clean cycle
• Check that the oven door gasket seal is intact and not damaged, as moisture can affect the sensor
• If you see the sensor probe touching an oven rack or wall, note this for service (do not attempt to reposition it yourself)
• Verify your home's main electrical panel shows steady 240V to the oven circuit using a multimeter if you have one available
• Do not attempt to remove, clean, or reconnect the temperature sensor yourself as this requires factory calibration
• If the error clears after the power reset but returns during cooking, document when it occurs (specific cycle, temperature setting) for the service technician
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
