Symptoms

• Cooktop will not heat or ignite burners • Touch controls are unresponsive or frozen • Display shows E9 error code continuously • Some burners work while others do not respond • Control panel beeps repeatedly when attempting to use cooktop • Cooktop locks automatically and cannot be unlocked • Inconsistent heating or burner performance across multiple zones

Possible Causes

• Loss of communication between control board and sensor elements due to internal wiring fault • Faulty temperature sensor on one or more burner zones • Cracked glass cooktop surface on electric or induction models creating sensor errors • Loose or corroded electrical connection at the 240V/60Hz power supply for electric and induction models • Low or unstable voltage reaching the cooktop control module • Tripped or failing home circuit breaker dedicated to the cooktop • Water or moisture damage to touch controls or internal circuit board • Failed relay or control circuit component on the main board • Incompatible or outdated cooktop firmware • Defective burner ignition sensor on gas models with electronic controls

Safety Checks You Can Do

• Turn off the dedicated home circuit breaker for your cooktop for 60 seconds, then switch it back on to perform a hard reset • Check that your home's circuit breaker for the cooktop has not tripped; if tripped, switch it fully off and back on • Verify that the cooktop is properly connected to its dedicated 240V outlet for electric and induction models, or 120V outlet for gas control modules • Inspect the glass cooktop surface on electric and induction models for cracks, chips, or damage that may affect sensors • Ensure all burner caps and grates are seated firmly and correctly on gas models • Check that the touch control panel is dry and free of spills or moisture; allow to air dry completely if wet • Verify that the cooktop is not in lock mode by checking the control panel display for lock symbols • Press and hold any control button for 3-5 seconds to attempt unlocking the cooktop if lock mode is active • Unplug any nearby appliances or devices that may be sharing the circuit to reduce electrical load • Ensure no cookware or objects are blocking the cooktop vents or sensor areas • Allow the cooktop to cool completely for 30 minutes before attempting to use it again
