Symptoms

• Cooktop will not turn on or respond to touch controls • One or more cooking zones or burners are unresponsive • Burners ignite but shut off immediately (gas models) • Display shows E2 error code on the control panel • Touch controls appear to be locked or unresponsive • Cooktop beeps repeatedly or continuously • Some zones work while others do not function

Possible Causes

• Moisture or water on the touch control panel interfering with sensor detection • Temperature sensor failure on one or more cooktop zones • Faulty control module or circuit board malfunction • Loose or damaged electrical connection between the control board and heating elements • Cracked glass cooktop surface on smoothtop or induction models affecting sensor functionality • Child lock feature accidentally activated on the control panel • Power supply voltage fluctuation or insufficient 240V (electric/induction) or 120V (gas control) reaching the cooktop • Grease or debris buildup on the glass surface affecting touch sensor accuracy

Safety Checks You Can Do

• Turn off the cooktop and wait 10 minutes for it to cool before attempting any checks • Locate your home electrical panel and verify the circuit breaker for the cooktop is in the ON position; if tripped, switch it OFF then back ON • Inspect the power cord and wall outlet connection to ensure the cooktop is fully plugged in and the connection is secure • Check that your cooktop is connected to the correct voltage: 240V dedicated outlet for electric and induction models, or 120V outlet for gas control modules • Wipe the entire touch control panel with a soft, dry cloth to remove any moisture, grease, or debris that may be blocking sensors • Perform a hard reset by switching OFF the circuit breaker for the cooktop for 60 seconds, then switch it back ON • On smoothtop and induction models, inspect the glass surface for cracks or damage that could affect sensor performance • On gas models, remove and reseat all burner caps and grates to ensure they are properly aligned and seated • Check if the child lock feature is activated by looking for a lock symbol on the display; consult your user manual for the specific button combination to deactivate it • Verify no error code reappears after the reset and test one burner or zone at a time to isolate any non-functioning areas • If the error persists after these checks, discontinue use of the cooktop until professional service is arranged
