Symptoms
• Cooktop will not heat or ignite burners
• One or more burner zones are unresponsive
• Error code E6 displays on the digital control panel
• Touch controls are unresponsive or inconsistent
• Cooktop powers on but immediately shuts down
• Beeping sounds accompanied by the error message
• Some burners may function while others do not
• Control panel locks automatically after error appears
Possible Causes
• Faulty temperature sensor on one or more burner zones
• Damaged wiring or loose connection between control board and sensors
• Malfunctioning position sensor on electric or induction cooktop burner elements
• Control board failure or internal circuit malfunction
• Water, steam, or spill damage to sensor connections or control panel
• Cracked glass surface on induction or smoothtop models affecting sensor function
• Loose or corroded electrical connections at the 240V (electric/induction) or 120V (gas control) power supply
• Failed communication between the main control board and zone control modules
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off power to the cooktop at the home circuit breaker and wait 60 seconds, then restore power to perform a hard reset
• Check that the cooktop is properly connected to its dedicated power outlet (240V for electric/induction models, 120V for gas control modules)
• Inspect the home circuit breaker for the cooktop to ensure it has not tripped; flip the breaker fully off and back on
• Examine the cooktop surface carefully for any visible cracks, especially on induction and smoothtop glass surfaces
• Ensure the touch control panel is completely dry and free of moisture or spilled liquid
• Verify that the control panel lock feature is not activated (check the user manual for lock button location)
• Allow the cooktop to cool completely if it was recently in use, then attempt operation again
• Check that all visible electrical connections at the rear of the cooktop where power enters are tight and show no corrosion
• Ensure burner caps and grates are seated properly and not blocking sensor areas (for gas cooktop models)
• Unplug any nearby kitchen appliances that may be causing electrical interference and try the cooktop again
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
