Symptoms
• Dishwasher stops mid-cycle and displays error code 05 on the control panel
• No water or insufficient water fills the tub during wash phases
• Error appears repeatedly even after cycle restart attempts
• Dishes remain unwashed or only partially cleaned
• Cycle does not progress beyond the initial fill stage
• LED indicator or digital display shows "05" or flashing error message
Possible Causes
• Water supply valve to dishwasher is closed or partially shut off
• Kinked, frozen, or obstructed inlet hose connecting to the dishwasher
• Clogged water inlet filter screen inside the dishwasher's fill port
• Water pressure in home plumbing is below 20 psi (minimum required for USA models)
• Failed water inlet solenoid valve preventing water from entering the tub
• Tripped circuit breaker affecting power to the inlet valve on 120V/60Hz US electrical systems
• Faulty fill sensor or water level switch detecting incorrect water levels
• Defective electronic control board not signaling the inlet valve to open
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify that the water supply valve behind or under the dishwasher is fully turned on (turn counterclockwise to open)
• Check that the home circuit breaker for the dishwasher has not tripped; reset if necessary
• Inspect the inlet hose for kinks, twists, or visible damage along its entire length
• Confirm that the inlet hose is not frozen or blocked by disconnecting at the water supply and running water briefly into a bucket to test water pressure
• Examine the water inlet filter screen located at the water inlet connection point inside the dishwasher tub for debris or mineral buildup
• Test home water pressure using a simple pressure gauge (available at hardware stores) to ensure it meets the 20-116 psi requirement for North American models
• Unplug the dishwasher for 5 minutes, then plug it back in to reset the electronic controls
• Run a test cycle with just a small amount of water in the tub to see if the error reappears
• Check for visible leaks around hose connections that may indicate a problem with the inlet system
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
