Symptoms

• Dishwasher stops mid-cycle or fails to start the wash phase • No water or very little water visible inside the tub at the start of the cycle • Error code E13 displays on the control panel • Dishes remain dry after the cycle completes • Audible clicking or buzzing sounds from the fill valve area (below the sink) • Cycle times extend longer than normal as the machine attempts to fill

Possible Causes

• Closed or partially closed water supply shut-off valve under the sink • Kinked, frozen, or blocked inlet water hose • Mineral deposits or sediment clogging the inlet screen filter (common in hard water areas across the USA) • Faulty or stuck water inlet fill valve requiring replacement • Low household water pressure below 20 psi (below minimum operating pressure for USA models) • Defective water level sensor preventing proper fill detection • Tripped home circuit breaker cutting power to the fill valve solenoid • Incorrect water line connection or disconnected inlet hose

Safety Checks You Can Do

• Check the water supply shut-off valve under the sink and ensure it is fully opened by turning it counterclockwise • Inspect both hot and cold water inlet hoses for kinks, twists, or visible damage; straighten any kinked sections • Verify your home's water pressure is adequate (normal USA household water pressure is 20-116 psi); low pressure may trigger E13 • Check your home's circuit breaker panel to ensure the breaker for the dishwasher is in the ON position; reset if tripped • Disconnect the inlet hoses at the dishwasher connection and inspect the small filter screens for debris or mineral buildup; rinse gently with clean water • Ensure inlet hoses are connected securely to both the water supply valves and the dishwasher inlet ports • Run the dishwasher on a short cycle and listen for water filling sounds; absence of inlet valve clicking may indicate electrical failure • Power cycle the dishwasher by turning off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds, then turning it back on • Check that the dishwasher door is closing fully and latching properly, as some models will not fill if the door latch is not engaged • Verify detergent dispenser is not stuck or jammed, as mechanical blockage can sometimes trigger false water level errors
