Symptoms

• Dishwasher stops mid-cycle and displays E12 error code on the control panel • No water or insufficient water fills the dishwasher tub at the start of wash • Water inlet valve makes clicking or buzzing sounds but no water flows • Error occurs intermittently or during specific wash cycles • Dishes remain dry after cycle completion • Low water level visible inside the dishwasher during operation

Possible Causes

• Kinked, pinched, or blocked inlet hose connection at the back of the unit or under the sink • Inlet water valve (solenoid valve) failure or partial blockage from mineral deposits • Clogged inlet screen filter due to sediment or mineral buildup common in hard water areas • Water supply turned off at the main shutoff or isolation valve under the sink • Home water pressure below 20 psi due to municipal supply issues or line restrictions • Failed water inlet valve assembly requiring replacement • Loose or disconnected hot water supply line connection (USA models use 120V inlet valve) • Control board failure preventing the inlet valve from opening properly

Safety Checks You Can Do

• Check that the water supply shutoff valve under the sink is fully open (turn counterclockwise) • Verify the main home water shutoff is on and that other faucets in your home have normal water pressure • Inspect both the hot and cold water inlet hoses at the back of the dishwasher for kinks, bends, or pinches • Disconnect the inlet hose at the back of the dishwasher and place the end in a bucket to test water flow from the supply line • Listen for water pressure hissing or clicking from the inlet valve area when a wash cycle starts • Check your home's electrical circuit breaker to ensure the dishwasher circuit is fully on (not tripped) • Allow the dishwasher to sit unpowered for 5 minutes, then plug back in and restart the cycle • Inspect the inlet hose screen filter (located where the hose connects to the dishwasher) for sediment or mineral deposits and rinse if accessible • Run hot water at your kitchen sink for 20-30 seconds to ensure adequate hot water supply pressure to the dishwasher connection • Check that the door latch closes fully and engages completely, as E12 can occasionally trigger if the door switch does not fully register
Safety First
