Symptoms
• Range hood fan does not turn on or start when controls are activated
• Fan runs intermittently and cuts off unexpectedly
• E03 error code displays on the LED control panel
• No response from touch controls or mechanical switches
• Fan may hum but not rotate
• Blinking or flashing error message on the display
Possible Causes
• Loose or corroded electrical connections between the control board and motor in the 120V circuit
• Burnt-out or failing fan motor component
• Defective speed control module or capacitor
• Tripped thermal overload switch due to motor overheating from blocked airflow
• Broken motor wiring harness or disconnected connector
• Debris or grease buildup restricting the motor fan blade rotation
• Power supply issue at the dedicated 120V outlet
• Malfunctioning touch sensor or mechanical switch contact
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the range hood from its 120V outlet or switch off its dedicated circuit breaker, wait 60 seconds, then restore power to perform a hard reset
• Verify the circuit breaker for the range hood has not tripped; check your home's electrical panel and reset if needed
• Open and visually inspect both the aluminum mesh grease filters and any intake filter screens for heavy grease buildup; clean or replace filters according to USA maintenance standards
• Check that the exhaust duct is not kinked, crushed, or blocked; verify the external damper or hood vent opening is not obstructed by lint, debris, or external obstacles
• Ensure the range hood is plugged into a dedicated 120V/60Hz outlet and not sharing circuits with other major appliances
• Listen carefully for any humming sounds when the fan attempts to run, which may indicate the motor is locked or a blade is obstructed
• Inspect the visible motor area from underneath or inside the hood (without disassembling) for any obvious debris, grease accumulation, or bent fan blades
• Allow the motor to cool for 30 minutes if it has been running continuously, then attempt operation again to determine if thermal overload triggered the error
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
