Symptoms

• Dishwasher stops mid-cycle and displays E24 error code on the control panel • Water does not fill or fills very slowly during the wash cycle • Cycle cannot complete and may drain immediately • Error code persists even after canceling and restarting the cycle • Dishwasher may beep repeatedly when E24 appears

Possible Causes

• Kinked or pinched inlet water hose behind or under the dishwasher • Clogged water inlet filter screen (common with sediment in older USA homes) • Closed or partially closed water supply valve under the kitchen sink • Frozen water supply line (in cold climates or unheated spaces) • Water pressure below the minimum 20 psi required for USA models • Defective water inlet valve solenoid preventing water flow • Failed fill sensor or water level float switch • Electrical connection issue with the inlet valve (loose wire or tripped 120V circuit breaker) • Faulty door latch preventing proper fill cycle initiation

Safety Checks You Can Do

• Check the home circuit breaker for the dishwasher and reset if tripped • Locate the water supply valve under the kitchen sink and verify it is fully open (turn counterclockwise) • Inspect both inlet hoses at the back of the dishwasher for kinks, pinches, or bends and straighten if needed • Verify the water supply valve is accessible and not frozen if your home is in a cold climate • Close the water supply valve, disconnect the inlet hose at the dishwasher connection, and turn the valve back on briefly to check for water flow and debris • Inspect the inlet hose screen filter (located where the hose connects to the dishwasher) for sediment or mineral buildup and clean gently if visible debris is present • Check that the dishwasher door closes completely and latches firmly, as some models will not fill if the latch is not fully engaged • Ensure no detergent or foreign objects are blocking the water inlet opening inside the dishwasher tub • Wait 30 minutes and attempt the cycle again to rule out a temporary sensor malfunction • Confirm your home water pressure is adequate by testing another faucet in the kitchen for normal flow
