Symptoms

• Dishwasher stops mid-cycle or fails to start the wash phase • No water or insufficient water visible in the tub during operation • Error code E03 displays on the control panel • Water fill valve makes clicking sounds but water does not enter • Cycle does not progress beyond the initial fill stage • Damp interior but noticeably low water level compared to normal operation

Possible Causes

• Kinked, pinched, or clogged inlet hose connection to the dishwasher • Closed or partially closed water supply valve under the sink • Low household water pressure below the 20 psi minimum required by Bosch USA models • Debris, mineral buildup, or sediment blocking the inlet screen or water inlet valve • Faulty water inlet solenoid valve unable to open with standard 120V USA electrical supply • Frozen water line or ice blockage (in cold climates or garages) • Door not closing completely, triggering a safety interlock that prevents fill • Defective door latch assembly preventing proper cycle initiation

Safety Checks You Can Do

• Turn off the dishwasher and locate the water supply shut-off valve under the sink, then check that it is fully open (turn counterclockwise) • Inspect the inlet hose for visible kinks, cracks, or pinches and straighten any bent sections • Disconnect the inlet hose from the water supply connection and run water into a bucket to confirm adequate household water pressure (should flow steadily; weak trickle suggests low pressure) • Check that the home circuit breaker for the dishwasher has not tripped; reset if necessary • Open and close the dishwasher door firmly several times to ensure it latches completely with an audible click • Remove and inspect the inlet hose screen filter (usually found where the hose connects to the water supply) for debris or mineral deposits; rinse under running water if clogged • Run a test cycle with the door closed and listen for a clicking sound from the inlet valve; silence may indicate a solenoid issue • Verify no detergent dispenser flap or door obstruction is preventing the cycle from starting properly • In cold climates, check that the water line to the dishwasher is not frozen by inspecting the supply area under the sink
