Symptoms
• Dishwasher does not fill with water or fills very slowly
• Wash cycle stops or does not begin
• Error code E04 appears on the digital display
• No water sounds heard during normal fill phase
• Dishes remain dry or partially wet after cycle completion
• Control panel may beep or flash warning lights
Possible Causes
• Kinked or pinched inlet water hose
• Clogged water inlet valve due to mineral deposits or debris
• Low home water pressure below the 20 psi minimum requirement for USA models
• Closed or partially closed water shut-off valve under the sink
• Faulty water inlet valve solenoid (120V electrical component)
• Clogged inlet screen filter inside the dishwasher connection point
• Tripped home electrical circuit breaker affecting the 120V/60Hz water inlet valve
• Defective fill valve assembly
• Water supply line issue or main home water supply problem
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check the home circuit breaker for the kitchen outlet to ensure power is fully restored; flip the breaker off and on again if tripped
• Locate the water shut-off valve under the sink and confirm it is fully open (turn counterclockwise)
• Inspect both inlet hoses running from the shut-off valve to the dishwasher for visible kinks, cracks, or pinches; straighten any bent sections
• Turn off the water shut-off valve, disconnect the inlet hose from the dishwasher, and run water into a bucket to verify adequate home water pressure and flow
• If water pressure is very low, check if other faucets in your home have reduced pressure, which may indicate a home water supply issue
• Reconnect the inlet hose securely to the dishwasher connection point
• Look for the inlet screen filter (small mesh screen at the connection point inside the dishwasher) and gently clean it with a soft brush if accessible without disassembly
• Run a test cycle and listen for water fill sounds to confirm the issue is resolved
• If water inlet appears normal but error persists, the internal water inlet valve may require professional service
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
