Symptoms

• Machine stops mid-brew cycle and displays E14 on the digital display • No water flows from the group head or brew outlet during coffee extraction • Weak or no coffee output despite beans being ground and loaded • Hissing or unusual sounds from the water pump area • Machine may power on but refuse to start a brewing cycle • Water tank appears full but machine indicates a water problem • Error message remains even after attempting to brew again

Possible Causes

• Mineral scale and calcium buildup in the water lines from hard water common in many USA regions blocking water flow • Water tank not fully seated or inserted properly in its cradle • Water inlet valve or filter blocked by debris or sediment from tap water • Faulty water pump unable to generate sufficient pressure on 120V/60Hz electrical system • Kinked, cracked, or disconnected water supply tube inside the machine • Brew unit not correctly installed or seated in its position • Pressure sensor malfunction preventing the machine from detecting adequate brewing pressure • Empty water tank not triggering the fill sensor correctly

Safety Checks You Can Do

• Check that your home circuit breaker for the outlet is in the ON position and the outlet itself is providing power by testing with another appliance • Remove the water tank completely, rinse it thoroughly with fresh tap water, and refill with cold filtered or bottled water to the MAX line • Reinsert the water tank firmly into the machine cradle ensuring it clicks or locks into position • Run a full descaling cycle using a commercial descaling solution designed for coffee machines to remove mineral buildup from 120V heating elements and water lines • Power off the machine, wait 60 seconds, then power it back on to perform a hard reset and clear any temporary sensor errors • Open the brew unit access door and verify the brew unit is fully inserted and locked in place with no gaps • Inspect the drip tray and grounds container for overflow or blockage and empty them if full • Check the bean hopper to ensure beans are not jammed, the hopper is properly seated, and fresh beans are loaded • Visually inspect any visible water tubes inside the machine access areas for kinks, cracks, or disconnection and gently straighten any kinked tubing • Attempt a test brew with water only (no beans or grounds) to isolate whether the issue is with water delivery or the grinding/brewing process
Safety First
