Symptoms
• Machine stops mid-brew cycle and displays E06 error code on the control panel
• No water flows from the coffee outlet or flows very slowly
• Machine makes unusual grinding or whirring sounds without dispensing coffee
• Water leaks appear around the base or drip tray area
• Machine beeps repeatedly and will not complete a brewing cycle
• Error code appears immediately after powering on the machine
• Coffee grounds appear in the cup or outlet despite proper brew unit insertion
Possible Causes
• Clogged water inlet valve or supply line caused by mineral buildup from hard water common in many USA regions
• Air pocket trapped in the water system preventing proper pressure buildup
• Water tank not making proper electrical contact with the machine base due to improper seating
• Brew unit not fully inserted or seated correctly in the machine head
• Faulty water pump unable to generate required pressure for 120V/60Hz operation
• Descaling cycle overdue due to high mineral content in typical North American tap water
• Damaged or misaligned water distribution components inside the brewing chamber
• Pressure sensor malfunction preventing the machine from detecting adequate water pressure
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the machine from the electrical outlet and wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in to perform a hard reset
• Check your home circuit breaker to ensure the outlet is not tripped; try plugging the machine into a different outlet to rule out electrical issues
• Remove the water tank, empty any stale water, rinse thoroughly with fresh filtered or bottled water, and reinstall ensuring it clicks firmly into place
• Fill the water tank with fresh, cold water and verify the tank is completely full
• Remove the brew unit by pressing the release button and inspect for coffee grounds, residue, or mineral deposits; rinse under running water and reinsert until you hear it click
• Check the drip tray and grounds container for overflow or blockages; empty both completely and ensure they are properly positioned
• Open the bean hopper and verify beans are not jammed or empty; gently shake the hopper to dislodge any stuck beans
• Run a full descaling cycle using a Bosch-approved descaling solution to remove mineral buildup from hard water, following the machine's on-screen prompts
• Inspect the water inlet area at the back of the machine for any visible cracks, kinks, or loose connections in the water line
• Attempt a test brew cycle using the machine's manual mode or espresso function to see if water pressure normalizes after the reset
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
