Symptoms
• Machine displays E01 error code on the digital screen
• Coffee machine will not start a brew cycle
• Machine powers on but is unresponsive to button commands
• Water does not flow through the group head during brewing attempts
• Machine beeps repeatedly or makes unusual sounds
• Brew unit does not move into brewing position
• Display may freeze or show partial text
Possible Causes
• Mineral buildup and scale deposits in water lines from hard water common in many USA regions blocking sensors or water passages
• Loose or disconnected internal electrical connector between brew unit and control board
• Faulty water level sensor preventing machine from detecting water supply
• Brew unit not fully inserted or improperly seated in the machine
• Failure of the brew unit motor or solenoid valve
• Internal circuit board malfunction due to electrical surge from 120V/60Hz USA power supply
• Water tank not properly seated on the machine
• Pressure sensor failure in the brewing system
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the machine from the electrical outlet for 60 seconds, then plug it back in to perform a hard reset
• Check that your home circuit breaker for the outlet has not tripped; reset if necessary
• Remove and reinsert the water tank ensuring it clicks firmly into place
• Fill the water tank with fresh, cold filtered water and verify the tank is seated properly
• Open the machine's service door and visually inspect that the brew unit is fully inserted and locked into position
• Run a descaling cycle using a Bosch-approved descaling solution to remove mineral deposits common in USA hard water areas
• Empty and clean the drip tray and grounds container to ensure no overflow is blocking sensors
• Check the bean hopper for beans and ensure they are not jammed or compacted
• Inspect the exterior water tank connection point for any visible water leaks or cracks
• Verify the machine is plugged into a working outlet by testing the outlet with another 120V appliance
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
