Symptoms
• Machine stops mid-brew cycle
• No water flows into the brew group
• Coffee output is significantly reduced or absent
• Machine beeps and displays E13 on the control panel
• Water tank appears full but machine won't dispense
• Error persists even after attempting to brew multiple times
• Machine may enter a standby or locked state
Possible Causes
• Water pump failure or malfunction due to power supply issues common with 120V/60Hz USA electrical systems
• Mineral buildup and limescale blockage in water lines from hard water deposits common throughout many USA regions
• Kinked or disconnected internal water tubing
• Water level sensor malfunction preventing proper water detection
• Air locked in the water system preventing proper pump operation
• Clogged water filter or inlet screen at the tank connection point
• Brew unit not properly seated causing water pressure detection failure
• Faulty pressure sensor reading incorrect water system pressure
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check that the home circuit breaker has not tripped by testing other outlets in the kitchen, then reset the breaker if needed and power the machine back on
• Verify the water tank is completely filled with fresh, cold tap water and seated firmly into the machine until you hear a click
• Remove and inspect the water tank for cracks, debris, or mineral deposits and rinse thoroughly under running water
• Confirm the drip tray is not overflowing and is properly positioned under the brew spout
• Check the grounds container is not completely full and remove any excess used grounds
• Verify the bean hopper contains fresh coffee beans and is not jammed with clumped beans
• Remove the brew unit according to the user manual, inspect it for visible mineral deposits or blockages, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water, and reinsert it firmly until fully seated
• Run a full descaling cycle using a Bosch-approved descaling solution to remove mineral buildup common in USA hard water areas, following the machine's descaling program
• Unplug the machine from the electrical outlet for 60 seconds to perform a hard reset, then plug it back in and attempt to brew
• Run 2-3 cycles of water-only dispensing through the spout to help clear any air locks in the system
• Check that no water is pooling underneath the machine indicating a leak in internal water lines
