Symptoms
• Machine displays E08 error code on the control panel display
• Coffee machine will not start or complete a brewing cycle
• No water flows when attempting to brew or when running the rinse function
• Machine may make unusual sounds or no sounds from the water pump area
• Drip tray may not fill with water during test runs
• Error persists even after turning the machine off and back on
Possible Causes
• Water tank is empty, not properly inserted, or seated incorrectly on the machine
• Water pump failure or malfunction preventing proper water circulation
• Mineral buildup and limescale in water lines from hard water common in many USA regions blocking water flow
• Clogged or kinked internal water supply tubing
• Water pressure sensor malfunction or electrical connection issue
• Faulty water level sensor unable to detect water in the system
• 120V electrical supply issue or tripped circuit breaker affecting pump operation
• Internal water filter cartridge is clogged or improperly installed
• Failed one-way check valve in the water pump circuit
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the coffee machine from the electrical outlet and wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in to perform a hard reset
• Check that your home circuit breaker has not tripped; reset if needed to ensure 120V power is reaching the machine
• Remove and inspect the water tank for any cracks or damage
• Empty and refill the water tank with fresh, cold filtered water to ensure it is adequately filled
• Reinsert the water tank firmly into the machine, ensuring it clicks or seats completely into position
• Run a complete descaling cycle using a USA-approved descaling solution to remove mineral buildup from hard water, following your machine's manual instructions
• After descaling, run several rinse cycles with fresh water only to clear any remaining solution
• Open the service flap or access panel and inspect visible water supply tubing for any kinks, cracks, or obvious blockages
• Check that the internal water filter cartridge, if your model has one, is properly installed and not clogged
• Remove the brew unit according to your manual and inspect it for water residue or mineral deposits; clean thoroughly with fresh water
• Verify the drip tray and grounds container are properly seated and not overflowing, which could trigger water system errors
• Shake the bean hopper gently to ensure beans are not jammed, as bean jams can sometimes trigger water system errors
• Wait 24 hours and attempt to use the machine again, as temporary sensor errors sometimes clear with time
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
