Symptoms
• Freezer display shows E06 error code
• Freezer not cooling to the set temperature
• Compressor running continuously or not running at all
• Temperature inside the freezer rising above safe storage levels
• Control panel may be unresponsive or frozen
• Ice buildup or frost accumulation occurring unevenly
• Alarm or beeping sounds from the freezer unit
Possible Causes
• Faulty temperature sensor (thermistor) in the freezer compartment
• Loose or corroded wire connections between the sensor and control board
• Damaged temperature probe wire harness
• Control board malfunction or software error on 120V/60Hz USA models
• Ice blockage around the sensor location preventing accurate readings
• Power surge damage to sensor circuit from household electrical fluctuations
• Defrost cycle timing issue on frost-free USA freezer models
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the freezer from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, then plug it back in to reset the control board
• Check your home circuit breaker to ensure the freezer is on a dedicated 120V circuit with proper amperage
• Inspect the freezer door seal for cracks, gaps, or damage that could cause temperature fluctuations
• Clean the condenser coils located at the bottom rear of the freezer using a brush to remove dust buildup
• Verify the ambient room temperature where the freezer is installed is between 50-90°F (typical USA home/garage range)
• Check that the freezer is not overpacked and that internal vents are not blocked by food items or frost
• Look for any visible ice accumulation around the temperature sensor area inside the freezer and manually remove if present
• Ensure the freezer is sitting level and not tilted, as this can affect sensor function
• Verify the freezer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not through an extension cord or power strip
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
