Symptoms
• Freezer not cooling or cooling inconsistently
• Temperature display shows unusual or fluctuating readings
• E10 error code displayed on the control panel or digital display
• Freezer running continuously without cycling off
• Food items not freezing properly or thawing unexpectedly
• Compressor running excessively or not running at all
Possible Causes
• Defective temperature sensor (thermistor) in the freezer compartment
• Loose or corroded electrical connection between sensor and control board
• Damaged wiring harness between the temperature sensor and main control circuit board
• Control board malfunction preventing proper sensor signal recognition
• Sensor probe blocked by ice buildup or frozen condensation
• Power supply instability due to faulty 120V connection or circuit breaker issues
• Defective main control board unable to communicate with sensor on 60Hz North American electrical standard
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify the freezer is properly plugged into a grounded 120V outlet and check that the home circuit breaker for the freezer has not tripped
• Power cycle the freezer by unplugging it for 5 minutes, then plugging it back in to reset the control board
• Inspect the freezer door seal for air leaks by closing the door on a dollar bill; if the bill pulls out easily, the seal may need replacement
• Check that the freezer interior is not overpacked and that air vents inside are not blocked by food items
• Ensure the room temperature where the freezer is located is between 50°F and 110°F (10°C to 43°C), which is the recommended USA operating range
• Unplug the freezer and visually inspect the condenser coils on the back or bottom exterior for excessive dust or debris buildup, and gently vacuum if needed
• Verify the freezer is not installed in a garage or outdoor location where temperature falls below 50°F during winter months, as this can trigger sensor errors
• Check that there are no visible loose cables or connectors at the back of the freezer where the power cord connects
• Allow 4-6 hours after power cycle before determining if the error persists, as the control board may need time to reinitialize
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
