Symptoms
• Dishwasher stops mid-cycle and displays E22 on the control panel
• No water or very little water enters the dishwasher during the wash cycle
• Dishes remain dry or only partially wet after the cycle completes
• Error code appears immediately after starting a wash program
• Dishwasher beeps and halts operation when E22 displays
• Water fills very slowly compared to normal operation
Possible Causes
• Clogged or kinked inlet hose connecting the water supply to the dishwasher
• Water inlet valve malfunction or failure
• Debris or mineral buildup in the water inlet filter screen
• Home water supply turned off or shut-off valve under the sink in closed position
• Low household water pressure (below 20 psi typical for dishwasher operation in USA homes)
• Faulty water level sensor or float switch
• Damaged inlet hose or cracked connection at the water supply line
• Frozen water line (in cold climates or garages)
• Control board malfunction affecting water inlet valve signals
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check the shut-off valve under your kitchen sink to ensure it is fully open (turn counterclockwise)
• Verify your home's main water supply is turned on and check if other faucets and appliances have normal water pressure
• Inspect the inlet hose at the back of the dishwasher for kinks, bends, or visible damage
• Turn off the water supply valve under the sink and carefully disconnect the inlet hose to check for debris or mineral deposits in the hose opening
• Disconnect the inlet hose and run water into a bucket to verify adequate water pressure from your home supply (should fill quickly, not trickle)
• Power off the dishwasher at the circuit breaker for 5 minutes, then power it back on to reset the control board
• Ensure the dishwasher door is closing completely and the door latch is engaging properly
• Check that the detergent dispenser lid is not stuck or blocking water inlet flow
• Feel the inlet hose to ensure it is not frozen if the dishwasher is installed in a garage or unheated space
• Run a test cycle with the dishwasher empty to confirm whether water enters the tub at all
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
