Symptoms
• Dishwasher stops mid-cycle and displays E20 error code on the control panel
• Insufficient water fills the wash tub during normal operation
• Cycle does not progress beyond the fill stage
• Water does not enter the dishwasher at all
• Audible clicking or buzzing sounds from the water inlet valve area
• Dishwasher door locks and will not open until error is cleared
Possible Causes
• Kinked, clogged, or frozen inlet hose connected to the dishwasher
• Water supply shutoff valve (under the sink) is partially or fully closed
• Inlet hose filter screen is blocked by mineral deposits or debris common in hard water areas
• Defective water inlet valve that fails to open at 120V/60Hz operation
• Clogged dishwasher inlet port or internal water line
• Water pressure from home supply is below the 20 psi minimum threshold required for USA models
• Door latch not fully engaged, preventing the fill cycle from starting
• Faulty electronic control board unable to signal the inlet valve
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off the dishwasher and allow 5-10 minutes for the cycle to reset before restarting
• Check that the water supply shutoff valve under the sink is fully open by turning it counterclockwise
• Inspect the inlet hose for kinks, bends, or damage and straighten if necessary
• Verify that your home's water pressure is adequate by testing a sink faucet near the dishwasher (should have normal water pressure)
• Locate the inlet hose connection at the back of the dishwasher and check that the hose is firmly connected with no leaks
• If accessible, turn off the water supply, disconnect the inlet hose, and inspect the inlet filter screen for mineral buildup or debris, rinsing if needed
• Ensure the dishwasher door is closing completely and the door latch engages with a clear click
• Check that the detergent dispenser lid is fully closed as an open dispenser can prevent the fill cycle
• Review your home circuit breaker to confirm the dishwasher breaker is in the ON position
• Run a short test cycle (Rinse Only or Quick Wash) to determine if the error recurs consistently
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
