Symptoms
• Freezer temperature rises above the safe freezing level
• Alarm sounds intermittently or continuously
• Digital display shows AL error code
• Compressor cycles on and off more frequently than normal
• Frost buildup appears uneven or excessive inside the cabinet
• Food items begin to thaw or show signs of partial defrosting
• Display panel may flicker or show unstable readings
Possible Causes
• Defective or loose temperature sensor connection
• Malfunction in the main control board or temperature sensor circuit
• Refrigerant leakage affecting cooling capacity
• Faulty damper valve preventing proper cold air distribution
• Blocked air circulation between fresh food and freezer sections
• Failed compressor or compressor not starting reliably
• Voltage fluctuations or inconsistent power supply from home circuit
• Ice buildup on evaporator coils restricting airflow
• Door seal failure allowing warm air infiltration
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Check that the home circuit breaker for the freezer is in the ON position and has not tripped
• Verify the power outlet is functioning by plugging in a different appliance
• Inspect the freezer door seal around all edges for gaps, tears, or visible deterioration
• Ensure the freezer door closes completely and latches securely
• Clean the condenser coils on the back or bottom of the unit using a soft brush to remove dust buildup
• Verify the room temperature where the freezer is located is between 50°F and 110°F (10°C to 43°C)
• Check that the freezer is not overpacked with items blocking vents or internal airflow
• Remove any items from the top of the freezer that may be blocking ventilation
• Listen for the compressor running and ensure it cycles normally
• Unplug the freezer for 5 minutes, then plug it back in to reset the system
• Allow 24 hours of operation after reset before determining if the error persists
• Avoid opening the door frequently during troubleshooting as this affects temperature stability
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
