Symptoms
• Refrigerator compartment not cooling to the set temperature
• Freezer compartment not freezing properly
• Inconsistent or fluctuating temperatures inside the fridge
• E11 error message displayed on the digital control panel
• Compressor running continuously or not running at all
• Food spoiling faster than normal
• Ice maker not producing ice (if equipped)
• Audible beeping or alarm sounds from the unit
Possible Causes
• Defective temperature sensor (thermistor) in the refrigerator or freezer compartment
• Loose or corroded electrical connections between the sensor and control board
• Faulty refrigerator control board (main PCB)
• Damaged sensor wiring harness or connector
• Power supply issues from the home circuit causing sensor signal loss
• Failed evaporator fan motor preventing proper air circulation and temperature detection
• Refrigerant system issue causing temperature reading errors
• Control panel malfunction unable to process sensor signals correctly
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Verify the refrigerator is plugged into a dedicated 120V, 60Hz outlet and not sharing the circuit with other high-power appliances
• Check your home circuit breaker to ensure the dedicated breaker for the refrigerator is in the ON position and has not tripped
• Unplug the unit for 60 seconds, then plug it back in to perform a hard reset of the control board
• Inspect the refrigerator and freezer door seals and gaskets to ensure they are clean, flexible, and sealing properly with no gaps or cracks
• Verify the refrigerator is level on the floor using a level tool, as improper leveling can affect sensor accuracy (front should be slightly higher than back)
• Check that the temperature settings are within the recommended USA range of 35-38°F for the refrigerator compartment and 0°F for the freezer compartment
• Locate and inspect the condenser coils at the back or bottom of the refrigerator for excessive dust buildup, and gently vacuum them clean with a soft brush attachment
• Ensure the vents inside both the refrigerator and freezer compartments are not blocked by food items or frost buildup
• Listen for the compressor and evaporator fan running normally; if completely silent, there may be a power or control board issue
• Check if the error clears after the hard reset; if it returns immediately, the sensor or control board likely requires professional service
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
