Symptoms
• Refrigerator compressor fails to run or cycles irregularly
• Freezer compartment temperature rises above 0°F
• Fresh food section temperature rises above safe levels
• E01 error code displays on the digital control panel
• Unit may beep repeatedly or emit warning tones
• Both refrigerator and freezer sections may fail to cool properly
• Control panel buttons may become unresponsive
Possible Causes
• Faulty temperature sensor (thermistor) in the refrigerator or freezer compartment
• Loose or corroded wiring connections between the control board and temperature sensors
• Defective electronic control board unable to read sensor signals
• Power supply issues on the 120V/60Hz circuit causing intermittent control board communication
• Failed evaporator fan motor preventing proper air circulation
• Control board firmware glitch or corruption
• Moisture intrusion into control panel connections from high humidity in USA home kitchens
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the refrigerator from the 120V outlet for 60 seconds, then plug it back in to perform a hard reset
• Check that the refrigerator is plugged into a dedicated 120V circuit and not sharing outlets with other high-power appliances
• Verify the home circuit breaker for the refrigerator is in the ON position and has not tripped
• Ensure the refrigerator is level by checking with a spirit level, adjusting the front legs if the unit is tilted
• Inspect the refrigerator door seals and gaskets on all compartments for cracks, gaps, or poor contact that could affect temperature readings
• Verify that the internal temperature settings are within the recommended USA range of 35-38°F for the fresh food section and 0°F for the freezer
• Clean the condenser coils located at the back or bottom of the unit using a soft brush or vacuum to remove dust buildup that restricts airflow
• Check that nothing is blocking air vents inside the refrigerator or freezer compartments
• Allow 4-6 hours for the refrigerator to stabilize and cool to proper temperature after power reset before concluding the error persists
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
