Symptoms
• Refrigerator compartment not cooling to the set temperature
• Freezer compartment displaying inadequate cold temperature
• E04 error code displayed on the digital control panel
• Both fresh food and freezer sections running warmer than normal
• Compressor running continuously without reaching proper temperatures
• Control panel beeping or alarming intermittently
• Food spoiling faster than expected
• Ice not forming in the freezer compartment
Possible Causes
• Defective refrigerator temperature sensor (thermistor) in the fresh food section
• Faulty freezer temperature sensor or thermistor
• Loose or disconnected wiring harness between control board and temperature sensors
• Corroded or damaged sensor connectors
• Control board failure preventing proper sensor signal interpretation
• Moisture or condensation inside sensor connections
• Manufacturing defect in the temperature sensing circuit
• Failed evaporator fan motor affecting temperature circulation and sensor readings
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Perform a hard reset by unplugging the refrigerator from the 120V outlet for 60 seconds, then plug it back in to allow the control board to reinitialize
• Verify the refrigerator is plugged into a dedicated 120V/60Hz outlet and not on a shared circuit with other appliances
• Check that your home's circuit breaker for the refrigerator has not tripped; reset if necessary
• Ensure the refrigerator is sitting level on the floor by checking with a spirit level, as improper leveling affects sensor function
• Inspect all door seals and gaskets on both the refrigerator and freezer compartments to ensure they seal completely
• Verify interior temperature settings are within the recommended USA range of 35-38°F for the fresh food section and 0°F for the freezer
• Clean dust and debris from the condenser coils located at the back or bottom of the unit using a soft brush or vacuum
• Check that air vents between the freezer and fresh food compartments are not blocked by food items
• Allow 4-6 hours after power restoration before evaluating whether temperatures normalize
• If the error persists after these checks, the temperature sensor or control board likely requires professional replacement
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
