Symptoms

• Refrigerator compartment not cooling to the set temperature • Freezer compartment not reaching or maintaining 0°F • E10 error code displayed on the control panel or digital display • Compressor running continuously or not cycling normally • Interior temperatures rising above safe food storage levels • Frost buildup in freezer compartment or lack of frost • Beeping or alarm sounds from the refrigerator • One compartment cooling while the other does not

Possible Causes

• Defective refrigerator compartment temperature sensor (thermistor) • Defective freezer compartment temperature sensor (thermistor) • Loose or corroded wiring connections between sensors and control board • Failed electronic control board unable to read sensor signals • Wiring harness damaged or disconnected inside the cabinet • Control board firmware error or malfunction • Faulty damper control unable to regulate airflow between compartments • Poor electrical connection at the 120V outlet or circuit breaker • Capacitor failure on the control board

Safety Checks You Can Do

• Verify the refrigerator is plugged into a dedicated 120V, 60Hz outlet and not sharing the circuit with other high-draw appliances • Check your home's circuit breaker panel to ensure the breaker for the refrigerator circuit is in the ON position and has not tripped • Perform a hard reset by unplugging the refrigerator from the outlet, waiting 60 seconds, and plugging it back in • Inspect the refrigerator door seals and gaskets on both the fridge and freezer compartments for cracks, tears, or gaps that may prevent proper sealing • Verify the refrigerator is level side-to-side and front-to-back using a level tool; adjust the front leveling legs if the unit tilts toward the back • Check that the condenser coils at the back or bottom of the refrigerator are free of dust and debris; gently vacuum if buildup is visible • Confirm the internal temperature settings are within the recommended USA range of 35-38°F for the refrigerator compartment and 0°F for the freezer compartment • Ensure nothing is blocking airflow vents inside the refrigerator or freezer compartments • Open both compartment doors fully and verify they close completely with an audible seal • Allow 4-6 hours after power restoration for the refrigerator to stabilize before determining if the error persists
