Symptoms
• Dryer stops mid-cycle and displays E08 on the control panel
• Clothes remain damp after a complete drying cycle
• Dryer will not start or begin heating
• The moisture sensor light on the display may flicker or remain illuminated
• Extended drying times before the cycle completes
• Dryer shuts off unexpectedly during operation
Possible Causes
• Moisture sensor contacts are dirty or covered with lint and detergent residue
• Faulty moisture sensor requiring replacement
• Loose or disconnected wiring harness connected to the sensor assembly
• Control board malfunction preventing proper sensor signal recognition
• Moisture sensor calibration error in the dryer's electronics
• High humidity in the laundry room affecting sensor accuracy
• Water damage or corrosion on sensor contacts due to excessive moisture
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the dryer from the 240V outlet or turn off the dedicated circuit breaker for at least 5 minutes, then restore power to reset the error code
• Open the dryer door and visually inspect the moisture sensor bar (typically located on the interior drum front) for lint, dust, or residue buildup
• Gently clean the moisture sensor contacts with a dry, soft cloth or soft-bristled brush to remove any lint or debris
• Check that the dryer's lint filter is clean and properly seated in its housing
• Ensure the external exhaust vent duct is not blocked by lint or obstructions and that air flows freely when the dryer is running
• Verify that your home's dedicated 240V dryer circuit breaker has not tripped and is in the ON position
• Run a test cycle with a small load of dry towels to see if the error clears after cleaning the sensor
• Check for any visible loose wires or connections at the back of the control panel (without disassembling)
• Ensure the laundry room is not excessively humid, as high moisture levels can interfere with sensor operation
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
