Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the dryer from the 240V outlet or turn off the circuit breaker for the dryer
• Wait 5 minutes and plug the dryer back in or restore power to reset the control board
• Open the dryer door and inspect the moisture sensor probe (typically located inside the drum or near the lint filter) for visible lint, dust, or debris and gently clean with a soft dry cloth
• Check the lint trap and surrounding area for excessive lint buildup that may be blocking the sensor
• Remove the lint trap completely and verify the trap opening is clear of blockages
• Inspect the dryer's exhaust vent duct outside your home to ensure it is not blocked or kinked, as restricted airflow can trigger sensor errors
• Verify the dryer door closes completely and the door latch engages properly
• Check that the home circuit breaker for the dryer is in the ON position and has not tripped
• Ensure the dryer is properly plugged into the outlet and the outlet is functioning (test with another 240V appliance if available)
• If error persists after these checks, the moisture sensor or control board will likely require professional service
