Symptoms
• Dishwasher stops mid-cycle and displays E15 on the control panel
• No water fills into the dishwasher tub at the start of the wash cycle
• Cycle begins but halts after a few seconds
• E15 error repeats even after restarting the appliance
• Dishes remain completely dry after a full cycle attempt
• Water drains immediately after attempting to fill
Possible Causes
• Kinked or pinched water inlet hose connection at the back of the dishwasher
• Water inlet valve stuck closed or not opening properly
• Clogged water inlet filter screen (located where hose connects to dishwasher)
• Low household water pressure below 20 psi (below normal USA residential standard)
• Aqua sensor (water level sensor) malfunction or poor electrical connection
• Faulty fill float switch that fails to detect water level
• Circuit board or control module issue with water inlet circuit
• Home main water shut-off valve partially closed
• Defective water inlet solenoid valve
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Turn off the dishwasher and check that the home main water shut-off valve under the kitchen sink is fully open
• Inspect the cold water inlet hose at the back of the dishwasher for kinks, bends, or pinching
• Verify that the inlet hose is not frozen if the dishwasher is located in an unheated space
• Check that both ends of the water inlet hose are securely connected (hand-tighten if loose)
• Close the main water valve, disconnect the inlet hose from the back of the dishwasher, and inspect the inlet filter screen for debris or mineral buildup
• Flush the water line briefly into a bucket to clear any sediment, then reconnect the hose and reopen the main water valve
• Check your home's circuit breaker panel to ensure the dishwasher's 120V circuit breaker has not tripped
• Reset the dishwasher by turning off the circuit breaker for 30 seconds, then turning it back on
• Run the dishwasher through a short test cycle and listen for water inlet valve clicking sounds (a sign the valve is attempting to open)
• Verify that no other household water-using appliances are running, as low water pressure from simultaneous use can trigger E15
• Check if you recently had plumbing work done that may have affected water pressure to the kitchen
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
