Safety Checks You Can Do

• Verify the microwave door closes completely and the door latch mechanism clicks properly into place
• Check that the microwave is plugged directly into a dedicated 120V outlet and not sharing a circuit with other high-draw appliances
• Inspect the power cord for visible damage, cuts, or exposed wires
• Test the outlet with another appliance to confirm it is receiving proper 120V power
• Ensure the area around ventilation grills is clear of grease, dust, or debris that could affect electrical components
• Try plugging the microwave into a different outlet in your kitchen to rule out circuit breaker or outlet issues
• Open and close the microwave door gently several times to ensure the interlock switch is engaging properly
• Verify no buttons are stuck or physically jammed on the control panel
