Symptoms

• Dryer will not start or stops mid-cycle when E02 is displayed • Wet or damp clothes at the end of a drying cycle • Dryer runs continuously without shutting off • Excessive heat or abnormal heat patterns during operation • Error code E02 appears on the digital display or control panel • Unable to select sensor dry or moisture-sensing cycles

Possible Causes

• Faulty or defective moisture sensor element inside the drum or lint chamber • Moisture sensor connections are loose or corroded • Lint and residue buildup on the sensor contacts preventing proper readings • Damaged wiring harness connected to the humidity sensor • Control board failure or sensor circuit malfunction • Improper airflow preventing accurate moisture detection • Defective thermal fuse limiting dryer operation

Safety Checks You Can Do

• Check your home's circuit breaker to ensure the 240V outlet powering the dryer is functioning and not tripped • Unplug the dryer from the wall outlet for 5 minutes, then plug it back in to reset the control board • Open the dryer door and inspect the lint filter for excessive lint buildup; remove any accumulated lint and wash the filter with warm water • Check the exhaust vent duct at the back of the dryer and outside your home for blockages, lint accumulation, or kinks that restrict airflow • Ensure the exhaust vent termination (dryer hood) outside your home opens freely and is not blocked by debris, bird nests, or ice • Verify that flexible vent ducting meets USA standards (no vinyl accordion-style ducts; use rigid metal or foil-lined ducting for safety compliance) • Clean around the dryer exterior vents to remove any dust or lint that may impede proper ventilation • Run a test cycle on a heat setting without moisture sensing to determine if the dryer operates normally without the sensor function
Safety First
