Symptoms
• Dryer runs but clothes do not dry or dry very slowly
• Drum rotates normally but no heat is produced
• Error code F01 displays on the control panel
• Drying cycle completes without reaching proper temperature
• Dryer may shut off prematurely or cycle repeatedly
• Wet or damp clothes at end of cycle
Possible Causes
• Faulty heating element that has burned out or failed
• Defective thermal sensor or temperature thermistor
• Broken thermal fuse in the heating circuit (safety device that cuts power when overheating is detected)
• Loose or corroded electrical connections to heating element
• Malfunctioning electronic control board unable to regulate heating
• Damaged wiring in the heating circuit due to age or wear
• Failed high-limit thermostat that controls maximum temperature
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the dryer from the 240V electrical outlet for safety
• Wait 5 minutes, then plug back in to reset the control board
• Check your home's circuit breaker panel to ensure the 240V breaker serving the dryer has not tripped; reset if necessary
• Verify the dryer is plugged into a dedicated 240V outlet and not sharing circuits with other appliances
• Clean or replace the lint filter completely, as blockages can trigger thermal sensors
• Inspect the exhaust vent duct on the back of the dryer and follow it to the outside wall termination
• Remove any lint, debris, or blockages from the exterior vent damper or hood
• Ensure the outside vent hood opens freely and is not blocked by weathering, nesting, or accumulated lint
• Check that the vent duct is not kinked, crushed, or improperly installed (should slope downward slightly toward outside per USA building codes)
• Run a test cycle with no clothes to confirm whether the error persists
• If error code returns after these checks, the dryer requires professional repair of internal heating components
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
