Symptoms
• Dryer stops mid-cycle and displays E06 error code on the control panel
• Dryer will not start or complete a drying cycle
• Clothes remain damp or wet after the cycle ends
• Drying time takes significantly longer than normal
• The dryer may shut off prematurely to prevent overheating
• Error code persists even after power cycling the appliance
Possible Causes
• Clogged or restricted exhaust vent duct preventing proper airflow
• Lint accumulation in the moisture sensor or thermal sensor areas
• Faulty moisture sensor that cannot properly detect humidity levels
• Defective thermal sensor (thermistor) that fails to read temperature correctly
• Poor electrical connection to the sensor components
• Damaged wiring harness connecting sensors to the control board
• Moisture sensor coated with fabric softener residue or detergent buildup
• Power supply issue affecting the 240V circuit powering the dryer
• Control board malfunction preventing proper sensor signal reading
Safety Checks You Can Do
• Unplug the dryer from the 240V outlet or turn off the circuit breaker for 5 minutes, then restore power to perform a complete system reset
• Check the home's circuit breaker panel to ensure the dryer circuit is properly engaged and not tripped
• Remove and clean the lint filter thoroughly, ensuring no lint remains in the filter housing
• Inspect the exhaust vent duct on the exterior of your home to confirm it is not blocked, crushed, or clogged with lint
• Verify the dryer exhaust vent damper (exterior flapper) opens freely and closes completely
• Clean the interior lint trap area with a vacuum hose attachment to remove any accumulated lint
• Check that the dryer is not located in an area with extreme temperature or humidity that could affect sensor operation
• Ensure the dryer has adequate clearance on all sides for proper air circulation around the unit
• Run a test cycle with an empty drum to determine if the error code reappears
• Verify the dryer is properly installed and not pushed back too far, which could kink the exhaust vent hose
Safety First
Always disconnect the appliance from power before performing any checks. If you are unsure about any step, please contact a qualified technician.
